This Alice Springs Chicken is a delicious copycat recipe inspired by Outback Steakhouse! Juicy chicken breasts topped with honey mustard, crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, and melted cheese. A mouthwatering main dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
•4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
•1 tbsp olive oil
•1/2 tsp salt
•1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Honey Mustard Sauce:
•1/2 cup mayonnaise
•2 tbsp Dijon mustard
•2 tbsp honey
•1 tbsp lemon juice
Toppings:
•1 cup mushrooms, sliced
•4 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
•1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
•1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken:
1.Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2.Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
3.Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken on both sides until golden brown (about 3-4 minutes per side). Remove from heat and set aside.
Make the Honey Mustard Sauce:
4.In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Set aside.
Sauté the Mushrooms:
5.In the same skillet, sauté sliced mushrooms for 3-4 minutes until tender. Remove and set aside.
Assemble and Bake:
6.Place the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish. Spread a generous layer of honey mustard sauce over each piece.
7.Top with sautéed mushrooms, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheeses.
8.Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature reaches 165°F or 74°C).
Serve:
9.Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Pair with a side of roasted vegetables or mashed potatoes for a complete meal!

•You can marinate the chicken in half of the honey mustard sauce for 2 hours for extra flavor.
